Hi all!
I am a senior law student interested in applying for a MiM program in Europe (SSE, HEC, RSM, Bocconi -discarded all British schools because they are too expensive-). I would appreciate for someone to help me out with my profile, just to see if I have a shot at those schools (what are my shortcomings, my advantages, etc), and specially, to assess my chances of obtaining a scholarship (being SSE my first option):
-
DEGREE: Law, from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC). Ranked #37th in QS Law School Ranking 2015 (highest in Chile, Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world). 10 semester program.
-
CERTIFICATES: Specialization in "
Global Business Law" (classes taught in English), and a Minor in "
Innovation" (from PUC's Engineering School).
-
GPA: 5.3 / 7.0 (or 3.6/5.0). Within the Business Administration classes I have taken in order to apply for most MiM programs (50 ECTS), my GPA is 4.3 / 5.0. Finally, within Business Law classes (40 ECTS) my GPA is 5.8 / 7.0 (or 4.1 / 5.0).
-
GMAT: 730.
-
TOEFL: 116 / 120.
-
EXPERIENCE ABROAD: Exchange Semester at
Northwestern University, USA (classes mainly in Poli Sci); Exchange Semester at
TU München, Germany (School of Management); Summer School in Intellectual Property Law at the
University of Bonn, Germany (awarded with a full fee-exemption scholarship).
-
LANGUAGES: Spanish (native); English (fluent); German (B1 Level); Portuguese (B1 Level).
-
WORK EXPERIENCE: 6 months internship at the legal department in Hoffmann-La Roche Chile; 3 months internship at PUC's Innovation Center; 5 months internship in a big law firm in Chile.
-
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: "Law Without Walls", being PUC's representative in this program organized by the University of Miami, which seeks to develop innovative projects within the legal profession;
"PUC VIIth DemoDay", a university-wide start-ups competition, where I lead the only Law School team to ever participate in this competition, presenting a legal start-up project;
"DerechoInnova", co-founder and general coordinator of this student-run organization, which aims to promote innovation within the legal field.
-
VOLUNTEER WORK: Amnesty International Chile, specialized volunteer for 5 months.
Thanks in advance!
