Profile evaluation for the selected schools [#permalink] New post 18 Sep 2010, 06:59
Hi
Please find my profile below:
country of residence: INDIA
GMAT: 760
Undergraduate: BTech.69 % (among top engineering coleges in India (non IIT))
work ex: 2 years 9 months with a US IT giant : worked as an IT Developer/Analyst and a team lead
3 months at a top consulting firm as an Associate , it recruits from many top Bschools(by the time I join the MBA I will have 1 year experience at this firm)
no international work ex..
extracurriculars : average..
I am concerned about my low GPA....will it be compensated by my GMAT score?
is the GPA viewed separately or the GPA and GMAt viewed collectively ?
Post MBA goal : join a top consulting firm as a Consultant

plesae find below the schools I have shortlisted and suggest any additions/deletions

tier1 (Columbia Oxford Cambridge Stanford )pls select 2 out of these
tier2 (CMU Darden Duke Cornell UCLA) 3 out of these
pls select some good safety schools

Thanks a lot...

Your grade percentage is a little low, but your GMATdoes compensate quite well.

Tier 1: Stanfordand Columbia
Tier 2: CMU, Duke, Darden
Safety: Emory, UT.

Best,
Linda

You have a chance at all, but the Tier 1 schools are less likely acceptances, and certainly unlikely to provide you with a scholarship. Your chances of acceptance improve at the Tier 2 schools but I am still not optimistic about scholarship money, although it is possible. Your chances of acceptance and scholarship money are strongest at the safety schools. I can't quantify your chances for any of them.

Best,
Linda
