I am not confident with my GMAT scores as I have heard that 720 is on the lower side for Indian male engineer. Which colleges should I target in US. I am still very new to GMAT and B school applications.
Okay, so I have great news for you: You do NOT need to retake the GMAT! A 720 is enough, really. You have a score that's basically as good as the average for almost all top schools. Now your job is not to be just "good" but "interesting"! Everything is in place: You have a great GMAT, you are an IIT grad, you have good grades, you work in a good industry.
From here on it's two things:
1. The details. (Did you lead a team of two or twenty? Did you close a big contract for the firm? Or the biggest in company history? did you get good reviews or amazing ones? etc. etc.
2. Your application: Are you interesting? Different? Passionate?
I think you are pretty good for Top 20 schools. Whether it is top 20 or top 10 or top 3 will depend on all the rest.
Best of luck!
