Re: Profile Evaluation - GMAT 700/ V83 / Q77 [#permalink] New post 07 Feb 2011, 16:14
Hi aceofbase1:
Your stats look pretty good. However, and I suspect you know this already, you are from a very competitive applicant subgroup -- the Indian IT male.
Basically, you need to get your GMAT score up past 720 if you want to be competitive at the schools you listed below. As of right now, you are probably competitive at a 10 to 20 school. This is based simply on the five line items you provided below.

Your graduate school experience helps, but it is still technical in nature. The one thing you are going to want to emphasize in your application is any type of extracurricular experiences that demonstrate leadership and showcase a different dimension -- beyond your technical skills or IT project management strengths.

You are early enough in the application season that you can study and retake the GMAT without impacting your applications.

Respectfully,
Paul Lanzillotti

2.) 5 years consulting experience from Deloitte Consulting - Top ranked - Always received a '1' rating
3.) Masters from an existing Ivy League MS (Computer Science) - 3.5 GPA
4.) Bachelors from India Engineering (Information Technology) - 70% / approx 3.8 GPA
5.) Career Goal post MBA Entrepreneurial - mobile start-up (have consistently worked towards mobile computing since school - can show passion)

I am hoping to target -
