Sooo, let's get kicked off with your questions.
1. It's not that it "inhibits", it's that the schools have too many exactly similar profiles to choose from. What makes YOU different from the other 300 Big four, high GMAT Indian Male IT candidates?? That is the million dollar question! And hopefully one you will be answering in your emails.
2. Both are true. The earlier you apply, the more seats there are, and the more money there is.
3. Like any investment, it depends on the costs. If anyways you are considering applying next year, and you have plenty of time, of COURSE you should try and get a higher score. A higher score can help differentiate you ( a bit). BUT, that having been said, I don't think that if the ONLY difference you will have is 20 points more, it will make all that much of a difference. Meaning once you break 720, 10 or 20 or 30 points more on the GMAT doesn't magically get you in anywhere. You also gotta have the profile.
