Profile evaluation help! Pepperdine/Loyola Marymount hopeful [#permalink] New post 24 Apr 2013, 15:34
Just took the GMAT, scored on the low-end of what i was testing at (was getting 610-660 in practice). Considering taking the test again to get closer to 660, but not sure if I should or not. I'm hoping to get into the part-time programs at Pepperdine or LMU.

GMAT: 610 (30% quant, 95% verbal)
GPA: 2.9
Experience: 7.5 years (4 of management)

I have amazing recommendations from my CEO and a VP I've worked closely with. I'm a good writer so I'm confident my essays and personal statement will be great.

Do I have a chance of getting into these part-time programs with my current GMAT score or should I consider taking it again?

Thank you in advance!

ThaDaint,
Your overall GMAT score is fine for both these schools, though your quant score may be an issue especially if you have no coursework or low grades in quant subjects. Still, these are not selective schools and their part-time programs will be even less selective. So you should be OK.

I agree. Except for your low qaunt score , you should be fine. If you have low grades in qaunt subjects in your undergrad, you may also want to explain it in your optional essay.
The good news is you are confident of writing great essays( I would still sugegst you take professional help) and you are expecting excellent recommendations as well. Also, make sure to craft a crisp, precise and detailed resume that provides a good idea of your skills, experience, key accomplishments and interests. I have observed that often times candidates don't pay required attention to their resumes.
Good luck on your application.
