Based on my above profile- what do you think are my chances of getting into a top MBA program. The schools that I am particularly interested in are:
MIT SLoan, Wharton, Kellogg, INSEAD, and LBS.
Would i have better chances if I re-take my GMAT? Please mind, I have already taken the test 4 times.
Also, please recommend some safe schools for me.
You certainly have a chance at these programs, but given your Indian IT background, your GMAT could be an issue. I share your concern on that one. Given that you have taken the GMAT 4 times and have the scores you have I see little reason to retake. It seem like this is your score, unless there were extenuating circumstances every single time you took it.
Instead, consider applying to a few programs that feed the management consulting firms, but have slightly lower GMATs at entrance, specifically consider Darden, Duke, Ross, and Cornell Johnson. Perhaps apply to 2-3 of the schools on your initial list and then add 3-4 of the ones on my list.
If you would like
help with your MBA applications, please let me know.
Regards,
Linda
