Because you are applying from an oversubscribed applicant pool, namely Indian high tech, you should try to bolster your application in any way you can. Certainly one way would be to increase your GMAT score, since it will be below average not only at the top schools, but most certainly also within your peer group. The GPA won't be nearly as important as the GMAT, since the GMAT is a more universal comparison tool. A couple of differentiation points in your profile include being female and having a couple of years of work experience in the US, which will not be nearly as common in your pool. If you can speak to how this experience has given you a deeper insight than the "next person" on the application list, you will be best positioned.
As for which schools you should target, I would say you'd have a good shot at the mid-top tier schools such as those found in the 12-25 ranking range on the BloomberbBusinessWeek list.
