Work Experience:

2 Years as Army National Guard Officer - Platoon Leader
1 Year as Army National Guard Officer - Executive Officer
Undergrad GPA - 2.6
Both my parents had cancer during my undergrad experience, and my father passed away. In the optional essay should I bring this up?
I have excelled in the National Guard since college and have been promoted over my peers. I will receive excellent recommendations from my Commanders. I have also done well at the bank and will revieve a good recommendation.
My GPA is a real problem. What would be the upper limits of schools I should target? I work in Boston and would like to stay around Massachusetts if possible.
Hmmmm, you have an interesting profile. Terrible grades, but a great stories and a military position with lots of leadership. With such a profile I think you would have a shot anywhere. A top five school will be a longshot for you because of your GPA, BUT you DO have a good story for it, and you have other interesting stuff which can make up for it, so unlike a lot of other folks you might have a shot. But anyhow I think your profile is good enough that you can stick to Top 20 schools.
If you want to stick to Boston only your options are gonna be limited. Cause you have only Top 5 schools and then decent schools (BU, BC), so I'd suggest being a bit more flexible. (limiting yourself to NE only is more reasonable)...
Hope this helps!!!!
