1. What do you think my chances are for getting into each of the schools I listed? Ideally, I'd like to attend USC F/T or UCLA P/T. However, if USC F/T is a stretch, I'd rather apply to the P/T program as a safety.
You should have a decent shot at your target schools. West coast schools get more Asian applicants, so you might consider a couple of more eaast coast or midwest schools where your culutral diversity will stand out more. I would say you are a shoo-in at the P/T programs, so if you will be happy with that, I think you are setting yourself up for success. I don't see why you wouldn't also have a shot at the F/T programs, however, so I'd definitely go for it. Your post MBA goal is very well tied into your past experience and you would be viewed as anything but an employment risk with recruiters in my view.
2. Will my experience as an attorney be a positive factor in admissions? I've heard mixed opinions on how adcoms view lawyers (eg: some are skeptical as to why they're going back to school, others feel they bring diversity to the classroom, etc.) I think it would be a positive, particularly since there are far fewer Asian Americans in law in the first place. Your practice was in the business field as well, so you should stand out in a positive way vs. other lawyer applicants who come without any business experience.
3. Nothing I can do about my UG GPA. Will my law school GPA help to counterbalance my lower UG GPA? Yes, I would not worry about your GPa at all --it's actually the GMAT as well which trumps your UG GPA, but having gone to law school and done well, it will innoculate any worries they might have had about your abilities.
4. Anything you recommend that I do to help my chances? Any other schools you suggest I apply to?
Make sure you reveal your personality in the application and hopefully you have some involvement in your community and a history of being engaged outside of work. I believe I addressed the application part of the question in my first answer.
