Were there extenuating circumstances that contributed to the low grades? Have you or would you be willing to take classes now to show that you now know how to apply yourself in an academic setting?

Hello Linda,
Thanks for the response. I am a first generation college graduate and was an international student. Both my paternal grandparents expired in consecutive semesters. However, I see no excuses for my poor performance as the above might not be extenuating circumstances.
I am currently taking alternative classes in business, finance and accounting via UCLA Ext. I will have about 6 400- level classes in all before applying. Do you think that would be sufficient? Or should I take a few more? I have received an A in two so far with four remaining.

Thanks once again, Linda.

The recent A's will definitely help as will your 720 GMAT. The fact that you are a first-generation college student and from UAE may mitigate a little too.

Here (bolded) is my assessment of the schools you listed. Please realize that these are not cast in concrete.

Schools I want to apply to:

School 1: Cornell Johnson Competitive

School 2: Dartmouth Tuck Stretch

School 3: Duke Fuqua Competitive

School 4: Yale SOM Competitive

School 5: Carnegie Mellon Competitive

School 6: Georgetown Competitive or Safety

School 7: Chicago Booth Stretch

School 8: Wharton Stretch

School 9: NYU Competitive

School 10: Columbia Stretch

Best,
Linda
