Hello , would really appreciate if you could give me some feedbacks regarding my profile:
Nationality : Indian , male
Age: 23 yrs
GMAT: 710( q 47 v 41)
GPA: top 10% of the graduating class , unknown school , engineering
Work ex: this is the most interesting part - I have been working with a Non profit for last 10 months. The organization I work for caters to widowed women from the backward society by providing them micro-finance and technical expertise . I am the financial coordinator and head of the events organizing committee, my team and I go to near by villages to organize events.
EXTRA-currics: lots of ...state level cricketer ( under 14, under 16, & and under 19 ) , trained in indian classical music , and I work with couple of schools teaching personal finance and mnemonics.
This might be a weird question to ask , but i am a but concerned that i do not earn a lot of money because of the nature of my work .

My target schools are - Cornell , UCLA , NYU
don't know if i have a realistic chance
i'll be applying for 2013 intake.
It would be great if you give me some pointer on how to improve my profile and give me a fair assessment of my chances.

Hi, Akshat. You're still young and I'm concerned that you don't have the experience or impact that you will need to prove to these top programs that you are ready for the MBA. I recommend growing within the organization, earning promotions that put you in charge of multiple programs and not just one. It isn't your salary that will have the most influence on the admissions committees' decision as much as the number of people, programs, and impacts you are shaping.
Also, to overcome the "unknown school" issue, you'll need to have a GMAT in the 740 or higher range in my opinion.

Everybody has a shot, but to have a realistic shot means you have to prove that you are the best of the best: a 740 or above shows that in a way that your current "unknown" undergrad program doesn't.
