Hi Alex,
I have enjoyed reading your witty posts and columns here and on other sites. I figured I'd ask you for my chances.
28 year old, White Male (will just have turned 29 at matriculation)
Nationality: American First Gen (but born overseas)
WE: 4 years, management consultant in DC, T2 (think Deloitte, Accenture, Booz, etc.) firm, great performance/business development, and got great recs.
UGrad: Top 25 national university (Think Vanderbilt, Emory, Georgetown, UVA, etc.)
3.34 GPA, BS (all cause of getting a 2.0 in one semester
)
Grad: 3.4 GPA, MS
GMAT: 710, 48Q, 40V
ECs: bunch in college, since then, not as much. My job takes up a lot of my time, with constant travel. However, I am very active in ECs within my firm and have had several successful initiatives. I also have my own startup on the side, and it is progressing very well so far (no income yet).
Reason to go: transition into strategy consulting
I'm thinking of going for broke with my school selection:
Long Shots: MIT, Wharton
Stretch: Tuck, NW, Chicago
Sweet Spots: Duke, UVA, Michigan
Is this an accurate assessment you'd say? Do you think that my Stretch schools are actually long shots?
