I totally understand what you mean about wanting to spend less time out of work, especially as you get older and more experience, and yes I truly believe that these MBA programs can get you where you want to go. And I think if you get into any top program with a good background in general management you can get that job you seek. I think you do have a lot more options in Europe in that case. I also wouldn't overlook IE, IESE, and HEC if your deadset on Europe.

That having been said, there are a lot of good American schools with strengths in Biotech/Pharma. Of course if you really don't want to either live or work in the US then maybe they don't make sense, but if you are open to suggestions Wharton, Fuqua and Kellogg all have veeeeery strong MBA programs which incorporate a health care emphasis. Wharton has a Health Care Management major, with faculty from the Business, Medical and Nursing schools of the University of Pennsylvania. Kellogg has the Health Industry Management (HIM), really one of the top in the US. Fuqua had a great med school and is near Research Triangle Park, a heaven for healthcare job seekers. You also have Sloan,(Biomedical Enterprise Program) Haas (Healthcare certificate) and Columbia. If this is relevant you can also look into double degree programs that incorporate a Healthcare program with an MBA for example an MBA-MHA, or a MBA-MPH.

Of course, none of these schools are super-easy to get into... but great programs!
