Hi there,
Thanks for posting, and it's great that you are looking ahead several years. That will certainly give you the best possible chances and plenty of time to do THOROUGH research on specific schools and really know them by the time you apply, which can make a difference in competitive situations.
As I see it now, your strengths are:
-GMAT (IF you achieve what you are aiming for--- no guarantees until then!! Side note-- 6 months more prep seems a bit excessive?!! I have seen people 'burn out' with drawing out prep that long; if already scoring 700-ish, what about taking it in 2-3 months max??
-masters GPA (and usually better grades more recently (i.e. in the masters) is better than vice versa
-you've taken a lot of initiative and taken on leadership roles in your past experiences; that is great to highlight, and I encourage you to continue to do so in the coming years
-volunteer/community experience
-some international experienced
Potential challenges:
-standing out from the large pool of Indian engineering applicants
-ensuring you can draw from/demonstrate skills and experience in leadership, teamwork, management, communication skills... not JUST technical/analytical skills
-ensuring you make a strong case for WHY the MBA makes sense for you; why management consulting, etc
-undergrad GPA
Overall I think you're doing all you can and things look good initially; but just keep in mind that for the top 10 schools, you really need to stand out and be remembered, and it's very competitive... so think about what you can do professionally and personally, in the coming years, to really show your future management potential. Best of luck and keep us posted on questions and your progress.
