Background: Southeast Asian, 24yo

GPA: 3.80 out of 4.00, Financial Mathematics, Top Philippine University

GMAT: 770 (Q51, V44), 6.0 AWA

Other Qualifications: Passed all 3 CFA Examinations on the first attempt, aiming to receive charter prior to matriculation

Work Experience:
- Associate in Capital Markets in Singapore for 1.5 years in a UK commercial bank, covering Southeast Asia and Korea
- Analyst in Philippine office of the same bank for 2 years, with experience in Capital Markets and Financial Market Sales

Extra Curriculars:
- Actively involved in college events and alumni association
- Performed outreach activities to urban poor villages and communities during college
- Engaged in setting up a few startups with friends but still in gestation stage (~4 months)
- Helping fund education of the grandchildren of our housemaid in the province

Goals Post MBA:
- Long term goal to continue entrepreneurial activities, with a focus on devising new business models that address Southeast Asia's unique business landscape
- Medium term goal to improve technical skills and business sense via roles in PE/VC. If markets remain tough, may consider Consulting or Business Development roles in MNCs with a significant presence in Asia

Target Schools:
- HBS, Wharton, MIT-Sloan, Chicago Booth, Columbia
- Aiming for Round 2 applications

Key Concerns:
- Understand that my profile (iBanking going into PE/VC) may be a bit overrepresented so would like to request a fresh perspective on how to set myself apart from the mob
- Would also appreciate input on my list of schools and whether I should amend

Look forward to hearing from you soon!

With your GMAT, Solid banking career, and grades you are definitely off to a good start, and can apply to any top program with competitiveness.
To set yourself apart from the mob, I wouldn't seek any crazy fancy tricks in your case. Just show them that you are good, very good, maybe even the best. That you have been super strong in every workplace, that you have worked on huge projects, and gotten amazing results. They will speak for themselves.

Your school list is great. With your stats, no reason you should aim any lower.

Now just beat the heck out of those essays!
