Hi,
Thank you for taking the time out to review my profile. Following is a brief description of my resume:
a) Work Experience: I plan to apply for 2013 batch and will have approximately 5.5 years of work experience at the time of joining. I currently work for one of the world’s biggest banks as a Business Analyst (Consulting) in Risk Management & Investment Banking. I have worked for two flagship projects that form the backbone of Risk Management in my organization. My profile is concentrated more in analysis and micro management.
I started my career as a developer but jumped to the analytics side (not an easy thing to do here)
b) International Exposure: Don’t really have any significant international exposure except from the occasional business trip and exposure to a multi-cultural environment.
c) GMAT: 700(QA48,VA38).My first attempt and and I think I underscored by at least 30-40 points. Wouldn’t mind retaking in July end.
d) Education:
I have Bachelors in Electronics & Telecomm Engineering(University Of Pune) and graduated with a first class. This can convert to approx a 3.2 to 3.3 CGPA
I have also cleared CFA L1(US) and CFA L2(US). Am appearing for L3 in June 12.
e) Activities outside Profession:
-Involved actively in CSR activities in my organization as a participant but on a continuous basis (since the last 3,4 years)
f) B Schools: Stern,Ross, Tepper,ISB and NUS are on my radar.
I plan to get in Consulting (Finance) post MBA
Could you evaluate my profile and suggest if the above mentioned schools are apt? Will it make sense if I retake the exam and aim for 750+?
I think retaking the GMAT is a good idea, given your confidence that you can raise it and your target programs. With a higher
GMAT score, your schools are appropriate. With your current GMAT, the U.S. programs you list are stretches.
Best,
Linda
