24/White/Male - Looking to apply Fall 2013 for 2014 matriculation.

Education:

Ivy league undergrad (not HYP), double major in Economics and Psychology. ~3.0 GPA

GMAT:

740 (Q50, V40), 97% percentile

Extra Curricular:

In college, was a four year varsity athlete on a conference championship team. I am hoping to partially explain my low GPA through inefficient time-management during my first two years of school. I struggled to balance athletics with 15+ practice hours a week, year round, and a demanding course load. However, I learned from those first two years, practicing much better time-management during my final two years, as evidenced by my significantly higher GPA junior year, and even higher GPA senior year.

Work Experience:

Boutique Management Consulting firm with an emphasis on the use of analytics to solve client problems, 2 years (3 by the time I matriculate). Projects have been varied but have been Strategy/Operations focused for Fortune 500 clients, with heavy use of analytics to add-value for clients. Played a leading role on multiple cases, and was promoted to an associate position early. I am looking to get an MBA as I feel as if I could learn a lot on how to apply my analytic skill set on a larger scale. I want to continue in consulting after my MBA, preferably for one of the larger firms, with a long-term career goal of becoming a COO for a major company.

Wanted to get your thoughts on my odds at getting into a top 10 B-school. I think Harvard/Stanford might be a stretch, but I really like Booth/Wharton/Darden/Tuck and would like to hear your thoughts on my odds of getting into those schools.

Thanks for the advice. I've been thinking about taking a continuing education class to show adcoms that I am academically inclined and my poor GPA was a result of poor time-management freshman and sophomore year. However, I don't think I need to prove my quant abilities, given the quant-heavy nature of my job and my Q50 gmat score. Would it be worth it to take a class in philosophy (a huge interest of mine), or should I stick to taking a quant class directly applicable to b-school?

In terms of extra curricular's, I continue to play baseball on a local team, work with a non-profit doing pro-bono consulting work, and am the head of athletics and recruiting at my firm.
