The white male thing is tough since it's the largest applicant pool, but you have lots of great profile characteristics including good ecucational pedigree (valued by places like Wharton and Harvard) and NCAA athlete status. True your GPA is low especially for ivy league, where everyone knows grades are inflated, but your reasons are solid and your upward trend in grades coupled with your great GMAT score should make this a non-issue. The fact you have quantitative consulting and an early promotion will bode well for you and staying with the consulting as a short term career goal will make you appear mature and stable. Knowing what you want longer term will also help on the maturity side, and maturity will be important as a younger candidate. Speaking of which, don't be so quick to rule out Stanford and HBS--those are actually the two b-schools in the top 10 who are the best about admitting young candidates. The key is writing a compelling application, one that tells your story with passion and sincerity. The odds are huge with all the applications that go to the top 10 schools, but if you apply to 5 or 6 I would be willing to bet money you get one or more offers to attend based on what I see.
