Profile Evaluation Request [#permalink] New post 07 May 2013, 02:59
Hi Paul,

Thanks in advance for taking out the time to evaluate my profile and answering my questions.

I am from India / 24 / Male. Currently I am working as a Consultant with the Strategy Consulting arm of Ernst & Young, India and wish to apply to business schools in 2013. At the time of applying I'll be having around 26 months of work experience.

Description of work experience:

I've been working as a strategy consultant across various sectors including Auto & Auto Components, FMCG, Manufacturing, Education etc. I joined EY in July 2011 as an associate consultant and got promoted to the post of consultant in Oct. 2012 ( one of the first non-MBA consultant in the practice's history). I've been involved in various firm development activities as and will come come with a thought leadership publication by the end of next month. Should be able to get stellar references from my managers and partners here at EY.

GMAT: 700 (Q49, V35); AWA: 5.0; IR: 8.0

Undergrad: B,tech from IIT Bombay CGPA- 8.75/10 (translates to 3.8-3.9)
Class XIIth : 91%
Class Xth: 90%

Extra curricular activities:

Represented IIT Bombay at Inter-IIT cricket tournaments winning Silver Medal on one such occasion
Held Institute Level Leadership positions in my 3rd year and 4th Year at IIT Bombay
Represented my district at State Level Table Tennis tournaments

Target B-schools: H/S/W (DREAM) , Columbia, Sloan, Stern, Booth, Haas, Tuck, Ross, INSEAD, LBS, HEC paris,IE, IESE, Richard Ivey, Rotman.

Post MBA Goal: To continue with management consulting but work at a global level consulting fortune 500 firms

Questions:

1. With my profile what are my chances at the schools that I have listed above? At which of these schools would I be having a reasonable chance of getting through? At which all top B- schools do I have a high probability of getting through?

2.In your opinion which all B-schools should I be targeting?

3. Will my chances significantly improve if I have a higher GMAT score? In other words, would retaking GMAT help in anyway (if yes, what is the minimum score that I should be targeting?)

Thanks.
