Hey vertex:
Retake the GMAT and get at least a 720. If you don't think you are going to do well on the GMAT - take the GRE. No joke, it's an alternative that will be considered seriously by the adcom.
I would not write goals that have you transitioning from operations into marketing. I would stick to operations, especially if you want to work in the US afterwards. You have to look at these things from a recruiter's POV. When graduating, you will be going up against fellow MBA graduates who have experience in marketing prior to the MBA. You do not want to be in that position because you are far less competitive than your jobseeking colleagues. The admissions committee will recognize this up front, and no matter what case you make for how good you are (in making this switch), you simply cannot account for others who will be in a much better position than you when it comes time to recruit.
If you want financial aid in the form of scholarships or grants – a.k.a. free money – then you are going to have to get a GMAT score that is 750 or above.

Implemented some critical cost saving projects for the company
Got promoted in 2014 august .
Second Role : Category Occupational Safety and environment manager , personal care ,South Asia ( India, bangladesh, nepal, Srilanka and Pakistan ) ,responsible for a total of 14 Personal care sites .
My question is, should I be actually thinking of applying with this score in schools such as Harvard, wharton, Stanford , Kellogg, Sloan,Booth, Yale, Columbia? Do I have a chance ?? or should I re-take the Gmat and try for a better score. if yes , what score should i ideally be targeting ?
Also, as you can see, i have always been in operations but post my Mba, i want to get into marketing .how bright are my chances to get through colleges which are famous for MBA in marketing .
I m also looking for financial aid.Would it be possible for me to get any , with the current profile & score
