Hello,
1) Brief description of your full-time work experience. What do you do?
I've been working for 3.5 yrs at a Manufacturing company (Mexico) that makes engine parts for most of the car companies. I'm a process engineer (been promoted twice) and I'm responsible for the quality of the products and lead a team of around 30 people (not as a boss but as team leader). Last year we made a reduction of 34% on defects.
2) Your GMAT: 710 (48Q 40V)
3) College info:
Industrial Engineer from Tec de Monterrey (one of the best schools in Mexico). Graduated in 2010. GPA 3.6 (88/100) did an Internship in France for 6 months studying International Business.
4) Significant college and post-college extra-curricular activities or community service, especially leadership experience.
Coordinator at the Industrial Congress (2000 assistants) which included leading a team of 10 people to plan logistics for the activities and improving the content.
Vicepresident of Industrial Engineer Student Government(leading around 50 coordinators), created different events like a social event to promote reading at primary schools, which included a closing party on children day with 10 000 children; Industrial Congress, Industrial Forum, and other activities. Final profit was 100 thousand usd for scholarships and housing of talented students with low resources.
5) Important certifications: None
6) Your target programs: I'm thinking on Stanford, Berkeley, MIT, Cornell and Georgetown, but I may change one or two.
7) When you plan to apply? R1 2014-15
8) Your post-MBA goal: Carreer change, work on a big company on a management/finance position for a few years, then start my own business back in Mexico.
