Hi Alex,
Sorry, still not sure about how this works but I urgently need a profile evaluation. Thanks in advance
Here's my background:
GMAT: 750
iBT:113 (I'm from Asia)
professional experience full time up to now 2.5 yr in sales and marketing in top FMCG company.
Education: dual bachelor degree in Economics and language literature
I worked on rotational base for 2 years basically sales management, information management, business development, and marketing management
the unique part of my experience is that the business program I'm involved in is a young global project which means I have start up experience in multinational company environment. Besides, I got the opportunity to be exchanged to R&D center to work with engineering team to design and develop product/system of strategic level for the whole corporate on global base. And I became the project leader to exert business model innovation to raise awareness of the urgency and importance to develop e-communication strategy. Though not implemented yet, I brought the proposal to the management board. And this experience together with my former engagement with a non-profit e-forum cristalized my determination to have my career aspiration with a dose of e-business.
now I've just got promotion to executive I felt I'm at a cross road.
My career goals: long term to establish a consulting venture to help organizations to develop e-communication strategy; short-term in management consulting focusing on marketing strategy and innovation/change management (as the Internet is having its effect not only on marketing but also on related HR, operation and finance resources allocation)
Academic pursuit: I want a MBA with well-rounded profile:
Round 1. Stanford, Wharton/Kellogg, Chicago, Fuqua
Round 2. Harvard, Michigan
My concerns are as follows
1 do my career goal make sense considering my former experience; and whether it's hot and big enough for top schools(some friends told me that consulting goals are boring and e-business based on for example web 2.0 is out of date for future goals);
2 How to choose from Wharton and Kellogg? Concerning my relatively short working experience and my focus on consulting.
Thanks!
