Hi!

Please find the my details below.

1) Work Experience: 3 Years in Insurance and IT.
a. Working as a Deputy Manager at a reputed Life Insurance Firm in India for the past 30 months.
b. Prior to this I have also worked with an IT firm for 7 months as a Software Engineer Trainee and with a Reinsurer for 2 months as a management intern.

2) GMAT Score:
700
Q (50)
V (34)
AWA (6)
IR (3)

3) College info:
a. Degree 1: Engineering (Electronics and Communication), 56% marks. :oops:
b. Degree 2: Post Graduate Diploma in Management PGDM (Insurance) from a reputed college in India, GPA 6.7 on a scale of 10.

4) Significant college and post-college extra-curricular activities
a. Awarded Best Underwriter for the year 2012-13.
b. Rated Exceeds Expectations during the appraisal for FY 2012-13.
c. Promoted to the rank of Deputy Manager within the shortest possible span of 2 years from joining the firm.
d. Anchored at many cultural events, seminars and summits.

5) Important certifications:
a. Certified Internal Auditor by BSI
b. Associate Member of Insurance Institute of India.

6) Target Programs
a. UVA Darden
b. Michigan Ross
c. Emory Goizueta
d. Georgetown McDonough
e. London Business School
f. IE Business School
g. HEC Paris

7) When you plan to apply?
R2 2013-14

8) Post-MBA goal
To join a Global Financial Services firm where I can get exposure to international markets.


9) Other Details - I am a 28 years old Indian male.

I think you are aiming a little high, given your profile. I suggest you drop LBS entirely. Choose 2 from UVA, Ross, Emory and Georgetown. Then consider applying to two where your chances are better. Look into Simon Rochester, Boston College, and University of Maryland.

Thanks for the information.

Considering the fact that I cannot improve upon my engineering grades, do I have a shot at these schools if I retake the GMAT and get a score of around 750?

yes a 750 GMAT would certainly improve your chances at these schools, especially if you combine it with a few relevant and recent A's. The GMAT shows you have more intellect than indicated by your GPA; the recent A's would show you know how to apply it.
