Profile evaluation request -- GMAT retake? [#permalink] New post 17 Apr 2014, 10:29
Hello,

I am aiming for HBS/Columbia/Stanford for an MBA in Marketing/Branding Strategy. I just took the GMAT and got 700 (AWA 6/IR 8/Quant 43/Verbal 42) and am trying to figure out if I should retake it.

I am a Princeton 2012 grad (Comp Lit, magna, thesis prize); worked for a year in fundraising at a performing arts center, and am currently working in marketing at a medical tech startup.

I volunteer as a fundraiser for Princeton's Annual Giving Campaign and am working on the fundraising strategy for a foundation that my grandfather is starting.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Hi thefran1,

Thanks for your post. In regards to the GMAT, one thing that is important to remember is that your highest GMAT score is self-reported on your application. For this reason, admissions teams will focus on your best score, and there isn't any harm in taking the test again. We normally recommend to candidates that if they believe they can improve their score by 30 points, that they take the test again.

I hope the above is of help. If you would like, we also provide free 30 minute phone consultations here: http://www.stacyblackman.com/contact/

Cheers,
Conrad and the Stacy Blackman Team
