Hi,
Would appreciate a no-holds-barred feedback on my profile below:
Indian, male, 23 years
1) Brief description of your full-time work experience.
Will complete 2 years experience this June, 1.5 as an Investment Analyst in a $100 million private equity fund.
Responsible for all analysis and deeply involved in all aspects of deal-making (since it's a boutique-style culture). Regular interaction with senior management of target companies.
Bottom of the totem pole position, but flip side is that I work nearly autonomously, and the responsibility is enormous.
Prior to that worked as an Audit Executive for 6 months. Also completed ~4 years of full time internship as Audit Trainee at the same organization. Involved in audits, taxation and accounting/reporting assignments for a wide range of corporate clients.
2) GMAT: Not taken yet. Scored in 'excellent' range in
Official Guide assessment for Verbal sections, 'average' in Quants (before starting any preparation).
3) Educational info: B.Com from IGNOU (correspondence, since I was pursuing CA and the CA Institute did not permit simultaneous full time undergrad course)
4) EC: Author or a popular finance blog, where I write about how to break into finance in India. Got interviewed by M&I (Brian DeChesare's mergersandinquisitions website) for my work in PE.
Not much EC apart from above, currently trying to reach out to start-ups/accelerators to volunteer my services.
5) Certifications: Chartered Accountant (CA)
6) Target programs: Would prefer top-20, but trying to find out where I have a realistic shot.
7) When you plan to apply: Mid-2014
8) Post-MBA goal: Initially work in a global PE fund, subsequently start and manage a PE fund in India.
Thanks!
