Profile evaluation request. many thanks [#permalink] New post 15 Aug 2011, 19:31
Hi all senior folks,

I am a Chinese guy obtaining the first honor degree (GPA=3.64) in the programme of accounting and finance in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After graduation, I have spent more than 2 years in PwC HK as a senior associate in audit division and I am mainly responsible for serving multinational corporations like hutchison whampoa. After that I have spent about one year in a local investment bank in which I am mainly responsible for some small scale M&A, IPO deals in Asian market. I have scored GMAT of 730. My target Us are in the ranking between 6 and 15 such as wharton, NYU, Columbia, Darden, Michigan, Tuck, Cornell, Duke and UCLA.

I would like to apply for the admission of fall 2012. However, I really got no idea whether my profile can meet the requirements in the abovementioned Bschools. I really hope that some bschool mates here can give me some advice for my application.

Many thanks,

What are you looking to do after b-school? Where do you want to live?

Definitely I would like to pursue IBD/PE industry, as I am already in this field now. I have lived in Hong Kong for 7 years. So I think the preferred place for me to live is either US or HK. For US, definitely the best place for finance is NYC.

Besides my short intro above, I am an active student in my uni. I have won two 2nd runner-up in two inter-uni competitions in HK. Also I actively participated in some famous conferences such as HPAIR during my uni life.

I think my target Us shd be more finance-oriented which I think may align my future career development.

It will be highly appreciated that if you can give me some guidance regarding my situation.

Many many thanks,

Columbia as your stretch school; NYU, Cornell and Yale as your sweet spots.
