I do recommend that you retake the GMAT. Remember that your highest score is self-reported on your exam, so admissions teams will focus on your best score. The schools you are applying to have average GMAT scores of around 700, so I recommend aiming for that score.
For re-applying, you will need to show progress in your application.

The reason is the proximity to financial firms, many of which are headquartered in New York City. You should not underestimate location, and alumni networks, in your decision for which business school to apply to.
