School wish list: EWMBA Haas (I would also consider the best possible part-time MBA that I could gain entry to: if you could also please help with me possible top-tier schools that I may be suitable for)
Age: 37 Current Occupation: Financial Analyst with global bank GPA: 2.7 from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Major: Business/Finance (admittedly did not apply myself)
GMAT: 690 Accreditations: CFA Charterholder
Misc Information: Ex-collegiate baseball player, drafted by 2 different professional baseball teams (should I even mention this??) Mentor for young adult (19 years old) with Fresno Economic Development Commission Enjoy baseball, basketball, tennis, meditating (should I mention this as well?), reading, insatiable appetite for knowledge.
I would like to earn my MBA to help propel my career into upper management within my banking institution. The MBA, I'm hoping, will provide me with the necessary tools and skill-set with which to draw upon to successfully vault my career to oneday become CEO of a financial institution.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi baker2145, Thanks for posting. Can you talk more about your work experience? At this point in your career and for the part-time MBA program you are applying to, an admissions teams will be more focused on your work experience than on your undergraduate record and GMAT score. Admissions teams will want to see progression and a history of leadership. Best, Conrad and the Stacy Blackman Team

1999-2002: Junior Research Associate: IB in SF
2002-2006: Parnter in dealership: CFO: Essentially wanted to give entrep. a go. After the business was sold, I honestly was unsure what career path to take, considering IB's were not located in Fresno, CA (this is where I am currently located). After some searching, I want to get into corporate finance for a large tier bank.
2006-2008: Banker with Citibank
2008-2010: Manager of 8 employees with Community Bank in Fresno (Ranked the #1 branch out of 96 in various profitability metrics) Received branch of the year award in 2010.
2010-Present: Financial Analyst with Rabobank (international bank). I wanted to utilized some aspects of my CFA credential to garner more experience.
My thought process is that an MBA will provide me valuable educational tools to continue on to corporate finance. Hope this helps.
Thank you again for your input.
Casey
