Hi,

I am an Indian/Male/Engg. with 3.3 years of experience in telecom. I plan to stick to my domain and get into product management. Managerial experience limited to a couple of small projects.
GMAT: 750 ( Q 49, V 42, AWA 6 )
TOEFL: 116
GPA: 3.5 ( from IP University, Delhi, India - Bachelors of Technology in Information Technology)
Extra Curricular : Average ( organized cultural events in college and a little bit of community service )

Kindly evaluate my profile and please suggest some B-Schools where i would stand a realistic chance.

Thanks.

Hello adhiraj, thanks for your question.

It’s hard to make a pronouncement as to your potential competitiveness without a complete picture, but I’ll comment broadly.

Your 750 would not move the needle as much as it would otherwise, given that you come from an overrepresented demographic in the MBA applicant pool. Bottom line: your competitiveness will come down to the quality of your leadership experience, both in and out of the office. Can you draw upon “moments” when you truly led: influenced individuals and organizations, drove results, took initiative? Call out the experiences and attributes that differentiate you.

Your GMAT and GPA open the door to most programs, so I would choose programs that 1) match well with your product management career goals (you haven’t mentioned an industry) and 2) have a culture that seems like a good fit with your personality.

Best of luck,
Brian
