Before responding, a few more questions to get to know you better:

- What do you want to do after graduating? Aiming for a career-change?
- Have you been interacting with other departments in your organisation (Temasek?)? Do you have an exposure in areas beyond IT?
- What is the typical nature of a project? How is the team structured? How/where do you get involved?
- Any extra-curriculars that you can talk about?

I'm assuming you've listed your work-ex in reverse chronological order and you are currently working in the data analysis function. If it's the other way around, let me know.

Hey Sameer,

Good to finally see a reply!

I have just (like 10 mins ago) received an improved score on my GMAT of 740(!),
still uncertified of course. Wonder if that makes a difference?

GIC actually. Pretty involved with other depts. We're in valuation and I look at
all asset classes traded (that's a lot) with a huge portfolio valuation.

I'm not really IT, more like the translater between the business (products and markets)
and the IT.

Extracurriculars, well, nothing really noteworthy. have taken part in tennis and scrabble
competitions and that's about it.

Well the project stuff is kinda touchy, I'll drop you a message if this reply is insufficient.

With my new score, I'm actually up to paying some bucks for a applications consultant to help get me in
for round 3, if at all possible...

Great-la. So our interaction starts off on a positive note :-)
Btw, I picked up the ok-la, can-can, cannot-la thingy during my stay in SG.

Yes, that would help. You don't have to share confidential info. Just a more specific idea of what you do. Send across a short CV if you have one.

Hang on to your horses, buddy. Before you start shelling out big bucks on consultants hoping for a miracle, you might want to do a little more groundwork by evaluating stretch, practical and safe schools for your profile. See how the risk/reward equation pans out for each (considering that you are applying pretty late in the game). Be aware of what consultants can and cannot do. Then take a call.
