My carrer has been very progressive and I have got promoted every other year. I am at a juncture where I am excelling in my current job, which is technology consulting. Do I have a chance with these schools?
Based on the limited info you gave me I would say your chances at CBS, Wharton, and Tuck are slim, primarily because these schools can afford to sift through reams of qualified applications to find the most unusual profiles and, unfortunately, yours is a quite common one. If reading and investing are your major extracurriculars your competitiveness at the top schools will be seriously impaired. Also, your age will hurt your chances at many of the top schools.
Your odds are somewhat better at Chicago and Stern and better still at Michigan and Cornell.
I hope this helps,
