Target schools - Haas, U of Chicago, Columbia, Tuck, Duke
Age: 27
GPA: 3.3 (3.7 in major) double major Finance and Marketing at a small, but well known private liberal arts college. Studied abroad for a year in Italy. Worked part-time during college all four years.

4 years experience working as an Research Analyst for a small ($1 billion), but fast growing buyside long-only asset management firm with solid progression of promotions and responsibility. Work directly with senior-management and part of the strategic planning of the firm. CFA Charterholder. completed in 18 months. Passing each exam on first attempt.
Out of college I was working to start a biomedical company for 9 months and was close to securing VC funding before the patent I was licensing was sold to another firm, which just recently went public. Went on from there to intern for another six months at a private equity firm.
Extra - Currently volunteer coach at Special Olympics, Elementry school tutor, various Habitat for humanity projects. Board Member on the finance committee of a non-profit foundation that donates money to public schools. Experience coordinating a number of volunteer projects during college.
Long term I want to start my own asset management firm with a specific niche in international markets.
Am I reaching too much with my target schools? Does my gmat completely disqualify me? Should I retake? Haas is my first choice.
Thank you for your help. Very much appreciated!!
