Undergrad: B.S. Mechanical Engineering, India GPA - 71/100 (1st in class of 60)
Grad: M.S. Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Tier 1 US school. GPA - 3.6 Deans Scholarship

Total 8 yrs experience (Manufacturing / Operations)
5 years Entrepreneurship - Turned around and sold businesses.
Incorporated and sold Engineering Consulting company.
plus
1 year with automotive supplier as an Engineer
1 years with one of the Big 3 Automotive manufacturer as Manager.

Presently working for Fortune 100 as Operations Manager (promoted within last 1year).

You have a pretty attractive profile IMO. Do you think you could improve your Verbal score much further?

Vandergrad11: I don't want to retake GMAT unless it will be absolutely necessary for these schools.

Hello 01dynamic, thanks for your question.

I do think your overall and your verbal GMAT scores could be potential obstacles, especially since you’re in a highly competitive applicant demographic. For such highly ranked schools, getting your overall score to 700+ and your verbal score as close to 80% as possible could move the needle.

One question: you seem to have solid work experience, so why do you need an MBA? In terms of your post-MBA goals, I encourage you to paint a picture that cohesively ties together your past, present, and future. Demonstrate to the admissions committees that your desired career path necessitates an MBA.
