Hi RajatSrivastava,

At Stratus Prep, we work with numerous Indian engineers in each round helping them stand out in this very competitive applicant pool. For your target and stretch schools, the quality of your application essays and recommendations will be definitive. We would be really happy to assist you in crafting these given our experience with individuals with similar profiles.

Overall you have a strong profile (4 years work experience in top tier firms, 700 GMAT, 49Q, and 83% in college). In terms of work experience, you will want to be sure to highlight any promotions in your application to show you are progressing, not just making lateral moves. Also, to differentiate yourself from other engineers focus less on the technical aspects of your work and more on the team leadership and interpersonal aspects. Stratus Prep has very successfully collaborated in implementing such a strategy (the execution is critical) to help countless Indian engineers like you into their top choice schools.

It's great that you have three areas of interest (management consulting, general management, and strategy), but be sure to narrow down your short-term and long-term career goals in your application to show you are focused and have a specific reason for attending business school. Without this you will not be successful at your stretch or target schools.

To broaden your network and global exposure, I would recommend attending an MBA program outside of India if at all possible. Below I have included some Safety, Target, and Stretch schools for your consideration.

As you may know, Stratus Prep has an unprecedented track record at many of your schools (for example, we had an Indian client admitted to Kellogg with a 640). Please let me know if you would like to work together on your applications.

Safety schools – UCLA, Georgetown
Target schools – Ross, Duke, UVA, ISB
Reach schools – Kellogg, Tuck, Yale, Haas
