My Short term goal is to work in "Consulting" or a PE firm. " Im not picky as to which ones"
My long term goal is to establish a specialized political interest group that works mainly with the private sector

I am really lost to where I would be a better fit, although I really like my experience at NYU, and would like to attend Stern/Wagner for MBA/MPA

You are making the right moves to mitigate thelow GPA. You should also let them know you worked during college. A high GMAT will be important. NYU Stern/Wagner may be a stretch, but you have a competitive profile for Georgetown and JHU. Columbia and Dartmouth/Kennedy are also stretch programs.

Best,
Linda
