your core profile looks impressive and you will stand out as an Indian applicant with a banking background for sure. I think you have a shot at your target schools but you likely already know that PE/VC jobs at least in the US rarely open up for freshly minted MBAs, so you should consider this as you lay out your post MBA strategy for your target schools. If you say you plan to land a PE or VC job at graduation, they may look at you as a risk, since you will likely have trouble doing this and could turn into one of those dreaded students who ding the school on "hired within 90 days of graduation" statistics. Formulate a short term plan that will set you up for PE/VC opportunities but will be more accessible to an MBA and you should have a reasonable shot.
Thanks a lot Bryant. I'm confident about my career goals but am not sure if I should offer a scenario based set of goals. I can also say that I will look to make a career in either consulting or in another investment bank or the corporate finance side of an Oil company and then some day look to move towards a PE, targeting entry level roles where my experience would be useful. But in such a short term goal, the admissions team can counter me by arguing about why I dont try for the same profiles right now, and how wharton would add value to my profile if I end up doing the same thing (although in America!
