Your profile is actually strong and you should be competitive at UCLA and USC. THe experience will actually help differentiate you since you will not have others to compare against. Being unique is a good thing, and your schools and GMAT score will definitely communicate that you are smart. The important thing is that you are an achiever and leader in your field. Finance and consulting recruiters at banks don't care what background you have as long as you are motivated and smart. The school you go to will prepare you for the consulting interviews and the finance folks will be impressed with your credentials. The MBA assumes no finance background and yet recruiters hire all the time from these pools. This should give you some encouragement. Let us know if you need help pulling your application together.

Definitely address this with optional essays. Best approach is to tell the straight and simple truth--they will be sympathetic to your move and getting married in preparation for business school. Would be good if you have been doing things to prepare specifically such as reading or taking extension coursework etc. At least volunteering your time somewhere in your new community.
