Disclaimer: I'm currently 23 years old and am not looking at applying to schools for at least another 2-3 years. Instead, I'm hoping to get some feedback on my current profile so I can take the next couple of years to work on my areas of weakness. This is my first time asking for a
profile review, so please let me know if there's anything I missed that I should have included.
Work experience: 2.5 years of experience in eCommerce (graduated uni 2 months after I turned 21). 1.5 years at Walmart eCommerce (SF Bay Area) working in projects related to website analytics, A/B testing, and content marketing with a readership in the millions. Led testing efforts @ Walmart that resulted in a projected $4.3M dollar benefit. Currently working at a well-funded startup in the grocery e-commerce sector in Singapore; 2 out of the 3 co-founders are INSEAD alumni, as well as my manager (so that's where my letter of rec will come from). I'm currently working in projects related to website analytics, A/B testing, and advertising. My largest achievement at the startup thusfar has been improving on our advertising revenue business (huge profit margins); our ad revenue last year was 200k, and since I've joined, we've increased our targets to $2.3M and are currently on course to meet those figures.
Extracurriculars: Currently do not have any. Planning on doing some pro-bono consulting soon for some well known small/medium businesses here in Singapore. I'm also planning on doing some part-time modeling as well as signing up for amateur powerlifting competitions (should I even include this in my application?)
Undergrad school/major: Arizona State University, Marketing
Race/nationality: Asian American
Sex: M
Stats: 690 GMAT Score (42Q/44V). Planning on retaking for at least a score of 700.
Undergrad GPA: 3.54 (got into school on a large scholarship and graduated with Cum Laude honors)
Goal of MBA: Either management consulting, or getting into a top tech company (looking specifically at Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook) working on advertising technology/sales.
Target schools: Top 20 U.S. schools as well as a few international ones such as INSEAD (#1 choice!), HKUST, CEIBS, LSE, and more.
Thoughts? I'm riding on my international work experience, having 1.5 years at a well-known American F500 as well as potentially 2 years at a well-funded start-up in Singapore, I potentially might work in a third country before I decide to apply. My native language is English, but I'm business-proficient in Mandarin and plan on learning Spanish soon as well. How far am I over-reaching here? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.
