I hate to say it but this board (the B-School Application board specifically not the forums in general) really isnt the place to ask these questions. Its not a big deal right now because the board is kind of between seasons. A lot of the 08 applicants are going or gone and the 09 are just starting to arrive. However, if it is allowed to continue there will be dozens of these threads cluttering the board and they are only a real value to the original poster.

There are a few boards where professional admission consultants provide profile feedback. Including Paul Bodine (ask accepted) whose book 'Great Application Essays for Busines School' is along with Montauk's 'How To Get Into the Top MBA Programs' provide an amazing amount of info on applying to B-schools.

MBA Game Plan: http://www.gmatclub.com/forum/124

If you have access to the profile forum add **feedback requested** to your profile if you want feedback. Yes it takes some quality posts to get access to that but just consider that good motivation to frequent this place and contribute. This forum is what it is because of the users and if it fills up with profile review requests it will be on its way to becoming BW.

--Praet, if you dont agree with this let me know and I will shut up and delete this thread. Opinions of others is welcome in this thread...I am not laying down the law, just stating my opinion on the matter.

The more interesting, compelling, or humorous you message the more likely I am to respond.

Hi There! Apologies if this is not the correct forum. I have posted my profile for the opinion of "experts" and consultants. I just figured the opinion of some recent applicants (who have just finished the process) would have some great value too!

No worries 8-)

I certainly won't pretend to understand what works and what does not, but it does make a lot of sense to have profile reviews in the admissions consultant forums.

I don't know if we should impose any rules though. My only criteria is for members to be nice. Everything else will fall into place if we care about each other. As long as a member asks nicely, provides all the background information, some member may provide insight and perspective that a consultant may not have.

I usually try to go easy on the new members. Let them learn their way around the forums and see how it works.

Should this maybe be a sticky thread? Otherwise it will eventually drift down to page 18 and nobody will ever see it.

i like the idea of having "review requested" in the members profile forum.

First ask the consultants, then when one has access to the members profile forum, put your profile there and request review and others will help out.

I can see the profile review requests cluttering this forum and drowning out some of the more important posts... maybe a sub-forum may be needed for "Peer Profile Reviews?" Praet?

I think kryzak's idea of having a sub forum for peer reviews would be nice.

Was anything ever decided on this? I agree that the member's profile forum is a great place to get profile evaluations, but I also think it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a "Peer Profile Evaluation Requests" sub-forum too. This would be for people who aren't members yet. People could respond if they are interested but nothing would be guaranteed. It could either be in the same location as the accepted.com sub-forum or within the B-School Application sub-forum. Thoughts?

I agree that a peer review forum would be useful. I regularly read other people's profiles on the consultant forums and occasionally want to post some feedback. I never reply because I don't want to stick my nose where it's unwanted or tread on the admission consultant's turf.
