Question : Of the three digit integers greater than 700, how many have two digits that are equal to each other and the remaining digit different from the other two?

A) 90
B) 82
C) 80
D) 45
E)36
How do I go about setting this up
I guess a table

You are right that is the range.
Total number in 800-899 range = 9 (tenth digit and unit digit are same and not equal to 8)
+ 9 (hundredth digit and unit digit are same=8 and tenth digit not equal to 8) +9 ( hundredth didgit and tenth digit =8 and unit digit not equal to 8)
= 27

Total number = 27+27+27 -1 = 80
