Props to Manhatten GMAT Prep SC book [#permalink]
26 Aug 2010, 20:07
Hey guys, I just wanted to plug Manhatten GMAT Prep SC here.
I've read the first two chapters of this book and WOW I wish I had used this prior to my first GMAT.
I, like many of us here, are a few years removed from any formal english class and it is all too easy for us to neglect the proper rules of the english language after undergrad.
I can already tell after just two chapters of the SC book that this is going to be a HUGE help. Remembering the simple difference between "such as" and "like" and things of that nature.
Just wanted to tell you all that it is helping me and highly recommend it!
Good luck to all!

Glad to read your enthusiastic endorsement, 600orBust! The Manhattan SC guide is the best guidebook available for this topic. But make sure that you read Manhattan SC at least twice. It truly has a great deal of information, and you will be surprised at how much you can still learn from it after multiple reads.

Thanks for the tip, Bmillan! I'll definately be reading it twice. I'm also going to be purchasing the other Manhattan GMAT Prep books! Hopefully they'll help me raise my score from 510 to my target score of 600+ when I retake GMAT in mid October.

I've read mgmat sc quite a few times, still hitting 60% on SC though. Heard some good reviews of e-gmat for SC training, any thoughts?

I totally agree about MGMAT SC. It's a very good book for anyone who needs a refresher on grammar and wants to write better English.

I have gotten the entire MGMAT series and SC is by far the best of the lot! It has been awesome, and has given me 5th grade flashbacks.
