IMO E is the best.

B, C and D have no active verb. A is not correct because "because of......thrust" is ungrammatical.

Since is preferable over because of and owning to
within a reach of: correct idiom

because of reach of is better than reach for. so Down to B C E,
owning to doesn't seems right ...so out

b/W B and E i will go with B cause E "gold-bearing riverbeds thrust to the surface by volcanic activity" is not clear ...
