Veritas Prep Professionals:

I appreciate the time and effort you have given on here to assist people in developing their admissions stratdies here is my basic data and schools I plan to apply to:

3) Company Commander, led a 240 personnel company, responsible for 10 million dollar property book, rated top commander of 7 by my supervisor and in top 2 of 26 peers by senior supervisor(supporting docs available for ADCOM
4) Operations Officer - conduct long/short range planning, resource / logisitics synchronization for an organization of 700 Soldiers

Academic:
GPA: 3.3 Environmental Engineering + International Relations(Top 20% for USMA, harsh grading)
GMAT: 700 (90%) AWA 6 (91%)

Additional: Top Secret Clearance, Volunteer at a local elementary school to conduct activties, sports, events with a 2nd Grade Class (1+ years) and as a mentor to senior cadets at West Point the the Social Sciences Department (3 yrs), Led a NATO-sponsored training mission to Turkey (no combat, just cultural + technique sharing)

Short Term Goal: management consulting with emphasis on strategy / operations (Booz, Bain, Deloitte etc)
Long term Goal: Strategic Management in the defense or energy sector (Boeing, GE, BAE Systems)

ROUND 1: NYU Stern (due Monday), MIT Sloan submitted

Is this realistic or should I select a school outside the top 15?

Your target schools look reasonable based upon the information you've shared. However, a lot depends upon the strength of your overall application package. Many people choose a lower ranked "safety" school when applying for an MBA. In general, safety schools are considered to be those that have 80th percentile of the school's GMAT scores/undergrad GPAs lower than your scores/GPA. However, this is only useful if the school will help you achieve your career goals and is a school you would actually go to.
