A) My grandmother is the most remarkable person of all the persons I have ever met
B) Of all the persons I have ever met, my grandmother is the most remarkable person
C) Of all the persons I have ever met, the most remarkable person is my grandmother
D) Of all the persons I have met, the most remarkable is my grandmother
E) My grandmother, of all the persons I have ever met, is the most remarkable

Ok, you may find the answer slightly out of the ordinary...
Official answer is D
Explanation: Suspense is created by holding grandmother to the end of the sentence. The word person does not have to be repeated

does D modifies the noun correctly?? I doubt, unless someone clarifies.
I got the idea that "person" is redundant, but D breaks some other rules

True that D seems to not have the modifier at the right place... My grandmother should come after the comma because that's what the first clause is supposed to modify... I did not get this one right too but wonder if there is some better explanation as to how D is better...

D is better for two reasons -
1. "person" is redundant
2. "ever" is redundant
"Of all the people I have met" means the same as "Of all the people I have ever met" - ever does nothing to add to the meaning of the clause.

D seems to be correct after reading all the posts.

This might be one of the few cases where a passive construct is correct.
