x+30 + 5x =300 (its 5x b/c we already have one hour in x+30)

x=45

x+30 +2x=? 75+90=165

D.

def. avoid the "obvious" answer of C here.

300 = (30+x) + 5x
x = 45

for 3 hours: (30+x) + 2x = 75+90 = 165
