Purdue vs UIUC vs Vanderbilt [#permalink] New post 31 May 2009, 21:24
Hello,

I live in Kentucky and want to attend a reputable school that isn't too far away. My top four based on rank and distance from my home are Washington U (Olin), Purdue (Krannert), Vanderbilt (Owen), and Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Unfortunately, I did not take Calculus III as an undergrad so I don't meet the program requirements at Washington U. That leaves me with the other three. I had a very strong undergrad GPA and will most likely get sterling recommendations by the time i'm ready to apply. I just graduated so I don't have very much work experience, just an internship (although it was in the Treasury of a fortune 1000 company). I haven't taken the GMAT yet.

Does anybody have any insightful information about any of these MSF programs?

Thanks.

I am also a newbie here. You could visit websites for those universities and you'll definitely come to know about a lot. People say that 3 or 3+ yrs of experiences are required anyway to maximize your chances in job market.

Krannert (Purdue) has quite the good reputation. There are definitely lots of people who apply. Other than good grades, do you have any other qualities which they would consider? In regards to graduating and then finding a job, it would be highly advantage to have work experience. If the program is 2 years, you would only have 1 summer to do another internship. That isn't a lot of work experience.
