I gave the gmat today and scored horribly. 650. While this isn't "horrible" it is far less than my practice tests and not what I am aiming for. My Verbal was 90% and my quant was 52%. Now, my verbal seems to be at about par for my practice tests, but my quant was significantly lower. I usually score around 80%. I'm ultra pissed off that I under performed, now, that being said I'm happy that my quant score doesn't reflect my capabilities. I made a rookie mistake and spent 8 minutes on the first question (inadvertently) and then got nailed with 8 numb props questions in a row - my weakest area. However, I'm no longer looking for an 80% I am now looking to decimate this thing. I don't want a 710-730. I want a 99% and I'm looking for some guidance to close the gaps here. I'm taking a few days off to recharge the batteries, but when I come back I don't want to leave any room for error, I don't want any ambiguity, I want to know my score before I go into the exam.
So lets brainstorm. Lets pick this apart and put me on a 6-7 week game plan that just ruins this test for every boyfriend she has afterward. Any quant resources are fair game, no well intended suggestion is a bad one. "Outlier" type suggestions are welcomed.
This is what has first jumped in my head
1)
MGMAT math series start to finish (number properties twice because apparently it didn't sink in deep enough the first time), also, SC book because 90%ile isn't a 99.
2)
mgmat advanced question book
3)
gmat club tests - seem to be recommended on this site for a reason
-Any other good numb props books out there?
-Anyone with veritas quant experience?
-I used the online knewton class in conjunction with other study materials. I'm also thinking about taking another lap through their entire quant section.
I'll probably also do 4 RC's and 10 CR's a day before bed to keep my Verbal sharp.
If anyone has some suggestions I really do welcome them. I would love to hear from those specifically who have taken themselves from a lousy math level (where I was) to a 46-47 level (where I know I am) to finally a 50/51 level (where I won't be satisfied until I reach).
