Great forum. Thanks for helping. I just started my GMAT preparation and scored 540 in my MGMAT CAT1 to see where I stand( Q40,V25). My question is if I can start with Verbal first instead of Quant? I feel I have lot to cover in Verbal compared to Quant. Is there any reason why almost everyone suggests to start quant first?

Thanks

You may start with either. No issues. Just try not to forget what you learned in the first month of your GMAT prep

You will need an ~8 point increase in quant and a ~13 point increase in verbal to hit the ~700 mark. Focus on your weaknesses and move on from there.

Based on your score I would focus on verbal first. I like to mix it up and not do one section for more than a couple of days in a row. Going through MGMAT SC book and really understanding the rules and tells for SC helped my verbal score the most. RC and CR I got better at mainly by practicing.
