Quant Score - 60! [#permalink]  27 Jun 2013, 04:58
Just a thought.
Can anyone score this magical number? I guess not.

Hypothesis - Scoring 60 in quant is impossible! (Huh! you already knew that)
The GMAT exam has question of varying difficulty. Generally, it starts with an easy question and progressively throws difficult questions.
If everything goes well and according to plan, one might score a high score (51/52).

So, I believe if all the questions were of higher difficulty level and then you get these question right you will get the score of 60. But in actual exams many question are of lower difficulty therefore the maximum attainable score is less than 60.

What say?

Regards,

Regards,

Currently, maximum scores possible on actual GMAT are Q51, V51 (800). I believe some prep tests (I have heard Kaplan does this) give higher than Q51 too but this doesn't happen in actual GMAT.
Scores from 52 to 60 are reserved by GMAC for future use.

Is it possible to get 51 in verbal? 800 is also a myth? It's rare but possible. People do get V51 and they do get 800 too. Of course, only a minuscule percentage gets that score. _________________ Karishma Veritas Prep | GMAT Instructor My Blog Get started with Veritas Prep GMAT On Demand for$199

This information is not sufficient to give any meaningful suggestions. You must provide details of what all you have done, which tests you have taken, how you have performed in them, what is your accuracy in CR, SC and RC etc.
